Exhibition | Brushwood Gallery

A solo exhibition is planned at the Brushwood Gallery at the Ryerson Woods in Deerfield June 11 - July 31. Opening Reception June 11 from 1-3pm.

At the Opening:

To further enrich the dialogue between art and science that Environmental Graphiti™ has created, Brushwood Center has invited Field Museum Climate Change Ecologist, Dr. Katherine Moore Powell to speak. Dr. Moore Powell has studied the ecology and hydrology of wetlands in Florida, the effect of changing seasonal rain patterns on carbon and water cycling in grasslands in Colorado, and is now developing a climate change adaptation plan for the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Her June 11 talk, The Faces Behind the Graphs, will explore the people behind the research that supports climate change. Although there are decades of research and thousands of publications behind the data that support climate change research, there is usually little known about the people who have worked so hard to study the Earth and its many complex systems. Their stories will parallel the story of climate change, and the inspiration for the art.

Free. No registration required. Exhibition runs June 11 – July 31, 2017.
