WHAT'S ALARMING

This graph reflects global land and ocean temperature anomalies when compared to the 20th century average. The trend towards ever warmer temperatures is clear and convincing.

According to NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), 2019 was the second warmest since modern recordkeeping began in 1880, second only to 2016. The past 5 years have been warmer than any recorded over 140 years of record-keeping.

“Using climate models and statistical analysis of global temperature data, scientists have concluded that this increase mostly has been driven by increased emissions into the atmosphere of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases produced by human activities.” NASA press release 20-003, Jan 15, 2020
